Freeze Out 2012

on .

The air was filled with excitement, nervousness and anticipation as 37 teens and adult leaders packed up the bus, van, and the trailer to head to Lake Ann Camp for Freeze Out. This was our biggest group ever. We arrived just in time for the first chapel session to begin. HeartSong, from Cedarville University, began the service with some amazing and high energy worship songs. Following that, Ken Rudolph—in his classic style

of humor mixed with passion—communicated God's Word to the teenagers and set the tone for the whole weekend.  This was shaping up to be a great winter weekend, the only problem; we didn't have a lot of snow… God would take care of that.

As we were heading back to our cabins at about 11:30 PM it began to snow, and it didn't stop until the following morning when a fresh 6 inches of white powder covered everything. Needless to say, that made for a great day of tubing, snowball fights, winter games, and it made the coffee and hot chocolate all that more delicious.

The spiritual focus of the weekend was, "The Invisible God: Seeing What Can't Be Seen." Through individual quiet times, chapel sessions, and breakout times with our group, God encouraged and challenged everyone who went. I could not be more pleased with this year's Freeze Out and grateful to the students, leaders, parents and others who contributed to this weekend.
